Can nature be an artifice? . Le Pertuiset
Leone Carlo Ghoddousi
The lake that flooded the Gorges de La Loire after the construction of the Grangent dam exemplifies how the landscape keeps in its structure the traces of its natural and anthropical transformations through time. The possibility of using an infrastructure to cover the depuration plants located in the small valley that marks the entrance of the Ondaine stream into the Loire, becomes an opportunity to transform the landscape by working on its physical form, creating a tectonic plate suspended between nature and artifice.
The easy access from the centre of Firminy makes it possible to hypothesise a public use of the roofing area, conceived as a free surface where the autochthonous vegetation can gradually settle.
