A natural landscape, a port, water. A system that requires a clarification, the research of a perfect shape, a square.
A river that became a lake. Between flood and recession, demolition and construction, ruins and buildings, water follows time and contains history. A system where water is at the centre of everything.
I imagine a new line between land and water amplifying the landscape while containing a program.
A new shape of water. I imagine offering a place that combines a harbour and new possibilities of use in a precise balance between sky and earth, between the aerial and the underground. This in-between is simultaneously socle and surface. I imagine underlining this geometry with symbolic elements that will mark the landscape. Two elements that will emerge from the ground.
A gate. Water-related programs have always been more than just places. Through time, they have been the scene of adventures. Places where memories become history. With this intervention, I imagine changing the perception of the powerful landscape of the Loire Gorges and offering a new centrality.
