Peter Jones is a Grade II* listed department store of the John Lewis Partnership. Occupying an entire city block the store’s six buildings encapsulate over 80 years of changing attitudes to retail architecture. The site’s primary facades represent the first example of a modernist curtain wall construction in Britain.
Our refurbishment proposals aim to reveal and express the significant heritage and status of the building’s architecture through the use of colour and light. To prepare the store for a sustainable commercial future, we have also developed a scheme to reinvigorate the site’s upper floors and roof terraces with new dining and retail experiences.
