Currently awaiting the verdict from Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design on the new Anthony Timberlands Center for Design and Materials Innovation. Located at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Government Avenue, the new university building will house the future experts in timber and wood design. Also in the running are Grafton Architects, Waugh Thistleton Architects, Kennedy & Violich Architecture, LEVER Architecture and Shigeru Ban Architects.

The building embodies and showcases the complete life-cycle of wood – starting from a sapling that grows on the porch of the building. It showcases the handling and processing of wood, from traditional techniques to advanced research and innovation – all in search of a sustainable future with wood at the forefront. The proposal is created in collaboration with Arup. Watch Dorte Mandrup’s presentation of our competition proposal.
