The land on which the project is located is part of the urban allotment operation known as Jardins da Parede and corresponds to a sub-zone of that division occupied by a set of detached houses adjacent to the west of a group of townhouses.
The house is located in the center of the land and the spaces are distributed over 3 floors. The lower floor is served by a gently rising east slope that gives access from the avenue to a basement garage with capacity for 3 cars. The intermediate floor, which accommodates the daytime area of the house (also including the parents’ suite) is placed at an intermediate level of the slope of the land that allows with a minimum modeling of the land to provide a qualified interior-exterior experience, balanced with the exceptional qualities of the area and the proximity of the sea environment. It is on this floor that the interior spaces extend outside, on the porches, in the garden, or south over the pool area. The upper floor is dedicated to the bedrooms and a family-living space and enjoys a particularly rich spatiality that results from the extension of the space in the concealed double coverage.
The exterior of the house is characterized by an apparent pigmented concrete (brick / orange) interspersed with natural colored concrete strips corresponding to the thickness of the floor slabs. The roof is ventilated with superior finish on precast concrete panels in the color of the walls and with stereotomy of wood slats, thus giving continuity to the materiality of the house.
