Sergison Bates is working with Lambert Lenack, Aires Mateus, Inessa Hansch, Joly & Loiret and Michel Desvigne to create a new residential quarter on a remarkable site adjacent to the Château de Versailles, formerly occupied by the Pion barracks.
Our brief is to design five apartment buildings set within a green landscape as part of a new residential quarter developed to meet contemporary environmental and social challenges, an experiment in urban development within a natural setting which could potentially be adapted to other cities .
The masterplan by Lambert Lenack is inspired by the principles of the Garden City, with low-rise buildings, shops, educational, sports and leisure facilities complemented by generous public spaces and surrounded by parkland.
