The building results from the need to create two offices, with possible autonomous use, but allowing an internal connection, considering the possible merging of the two spaces.
The construction is located on level ground, at a height of about 1.00 m above the height of the street, and is located in an environment of dispersed buildings with a strong presence of agricultural activity.
The choice of site is therefore not thoughtless.
Although the program is of a commercial nature, the need for decontamination, back to the essence, a kind of purity that allows, without initial affections, to think, conceive and produce new spaces, conditioned this choice that, unlike most service spaces, is not located in a more urbanized center.
There is, therefore, a conscious detachment that compensates for the increasingly frenetic pace at which things have to be thought and produced.
The building is the result of the juxtaposition of a series of pure, little-tamed volumes, linked by necessity, but assuming its own identity.
The result seeks, however, to be more than a sum, an idea of formulation that exposes without fear the crudeness of the essence as a possible way, the honesty of the simple forms, exposed without filters, in a game that emphasizes the dynamism, by the different rotation of the volumes, its different altimetry and solar exposition, allowing the creation of an object of easy apprehension and simultaneously of insinuated complexity, by the games of light/shadow that causes, by the apparent ambiguity of how it is shown, exposed in the volumetric formulation but reserved in the functional connection that establishes, filtered, with the surroundings.
The natural surroundings are a permanent mutation scenario, resulting from the agricultural cycles, the seasons, the climatic conditions of each season and the success of the tilth that proliferate.
The building, which is immutable, is shaping much more slowly and, at the most, it can accuse the skates themselves of it own exposure to the weather conditions that, along with the longevity it as, influence its appearance.
Moreover, this almost immutability of the building before an environment at least cyclically changeable exposes the building in ways that are not controlled – the forms gain an apparent importance before a nature that is transfigured when, year after year, they appear with this constancy.
The apparent lightness of the gesture is contrary to the resistance of the work in time, which in itself also shows a certain tension – the work nevertheless seems to have resulted from a sudden act, little reflected, when in fact, this simplicity results from a successive detachment of artifacts used more commonly in other circumstances, and is therefore the result of a long process of maturation and reflection.

O edifício resulta da necessidade de criação de dois escritórios, com utilização eventualmente autónoma, mas que permitam uma ligação interna, pensando na eventual fusão dos dois espaços. A construção está implantada num terreno de nível, a uma cota sensivelmente 1,00m acima do arruamento, e localiza-se numa envolvente de construções dispersas, com uma forte presença da actividade agrícola. A escolha do sítio não é portanto irreflectida. Apesar do programa ser de vertente comercial, a necessidade de despoluição, de regresso à essência, a uma espécie de pureza que permite, sem afectações iniciais, pensar, conceber e produzir novos espaços, condicionou esta escolha que, contrariamente à maioria dos espaços de serviços, não se localiza num centro mais urbanizado. Há, portanto, um consciente afastamento que permite compensar o cada vez mais frenético ritmo a que as coisas têm que ser pensadas e produzidas. O edifício é o resultado da justaposição de uma série de volumes puros, pouco domesticados, ligados pela necessidade, mas assumindo a sua própria identidade. O resultado procura, no entanto, ser mais do que um somatório, uma ideia de formulação que expõe, sem receios, a crueza da essência como um caminho possível, a honestidade das formas simples, expostas sem filtros, um objecto de fácil apreensão e simultaneamente de complexidade insinuada num jogo que acentua o dinamismo, pela diferente rotação dos volumes, a sua diferente altimetria e exposição solar, pelos jogos de luz/sombra que provoca, pela aparente ambiguidade de como se mostra, ora exposto na formulação volumétrica ora reservado na ligação funcional que estabelece, filtrada, com a envolvente próxima. A envolvente, em estado natural, apresenta-se como um cenário de mutação permanente, resultante dos ciclos agrícolas, das estações do ano, das condições climatéricas de cada estação e do sucesso das culturas que proliferam. O edifício, esse, imutável, vai-se moldando muito mais lentamente e, quanto muito, poderá acusar as patines próprias da sua exposição às condições climatéricas que, a par da longevidade que vai tendo, influem no seu aspecto. De resto, esta quase imutabilidade do edifício perante um entorno pelo menos ciclicamente mutável expõe o edifício de maneiras que não se controlam - as formas ganham uma aparente importância perante uma natureza que se transfigura quando, ano após ano, se apresentam com essa constância. A aparente ligeireza do gesto é contrária à resistência da obra no tempo, o que por si só também revela uma certa tensão - a obra parece, mesmo assim, ter resultado de um acto repentino, pouco reflectido, quando na verdade, esta simplicidade resulta de um sucessivo desprendimento de artifícios usados mais comummente noutras circunstâncias, sendo por isso, o resultado de um longo processo de amadurecimento e reflexão.
