The proposed building of Muzeum Książąt Lubomirskich is a contemporary palazzo with classic, balanced proportions, strong rhythms and an open structure.
CONTINUITY, IDENTITY, PERMANENCE
Massive walls, woven from fine stone blocks, pile up intricately creating a distinct gradation of structure, a traditional, almost classical order enclosed in a free composition. The rhythm of windows initially seen as homogeneous, rigorous turns out to be released from the mathematical grid, creating an irregular, but harmonious drawing. Austere details give the building a clearly contemporary character, inspiring reflection on cultural identity, continuity and permanence in art and architecture.
