Campus is built on the premises of an existing dacha village, adjacent to a house that belongs to the institute’s founder. It is a multi-use education space for designers who take part in an intensive and holistic study program. For five weeks, the participants live, work, study, play and collaborate inside and outside the Campus building.
The building facilitates the Campus organizers’ vision “that professional self-awareness arises only from practice.” Campus building does this by providing minimally and simply designed spaces with functionally stacked program that reflects the participant’s daily activities, guiding them through their practice from dawn to dusk.
The building is playful in use but serious in its mission to allow for an intensive incubation of ideas and learning to take place.
