Archeology and history.
The project proposes a reflection on history and memory, and on the coexistence between the old and the new through an intervention that combines past and present. The proposal does not start in anything or almost nothing, it simply establishes different levels of relationship between present time and historical time. Showing interest in intervening with sensitivity and determination about what exists, in continuity with its history, recovering the strata of the old fortress and incorporating them into this infinite landscape.

ONE WAY & THREE FINDINGS.
The remains of the old fortress will serve as support for a new scenic space and will be put into value through a ‘carpet’, which will allow us to walk through the past. Thus, silenced spaces become the protagonists of the project.

A Gateway. The old gateway.
A new piece, of domestic scale, will be added to the ancient remains, completing its image as a gateway to a landscape that unites sea, sky and earth. The building will solve the program: reception, indoor / outdoor cafeteria, changing rooms, toilets and storage. Divided into two separate volumes by a walk that connects with the city.

The theatre. The old canyon area.
The semicircular remains that protected the area of the canyons, hidden by an artificial hill of the place, will be revealed to serve as a backdrop for the theater. A new platform that will adopt the geometry of the remains will serve as a stage, together with a grandstand, which, using the natural slope of the terrain, will be the place from which to observe and reflect.

It avoids the materialization of the remains and the recreation of the original form of the old watchtower, limiting the intervention to maintain the exterior silhouette of the tower as a way to enhance its past.
