We tried to think about a library as if it was a city.
A city is a mix of opposed conditions and contrasts:
Simplicity and complexity, bigness and smallness, concentration and diffusion, interior and exterior, lightness and darkness, part and whole…

In a city, there are numerous spaces for reading a book: on a bench in a park, on a train, at an underground station, in a cafe, on a sofa, in your bed before falling asleep…
A book can be the element that connects people to all the different parts and spaces a city is made of.
We decided to recreate this mix of different conditions which is the main characteristic of a city by piling up curved walls, in order to allow people to choose the type of space they prefer according to their current needs and mood.
We believe that this type of architecture could become a central point in the urban fabric, connecting people to their city.
