Designed by the architect John Winter for his own use, located on the fringes of Highgate Cemetery, surrounded by trees, the house has huge double-glazed windows that provide the interior with outstanding levels of natural light. Constructed around a steel frame, it is clad in Cor-Ten and has been given a Grade II* listing by English Heritage.
