In “Splashing Mies”, Alberto Peral incorporates tubes and other elements in the ponds, under the roofs and on the walls, which evoke the eight pillars of the roof of the Pavilion. These structures, arranged in pairs, refer to this duality, but unlike the original pillars, they are capable of touching each other and crossing surfaces. Some are suspended, while others interact inside and at the edge of the outer pond, now fictionally freed from the charges they would normally hold. In the inner pond, a black bowl receives the jet of water, amplifying the sound of its fall and adding a sound dimension to the intervention.
