The basis of all the paintings is time and space, but we discover, throughout this exhibition, that both are defined by the objects and people that populate them. And in this multifaceted tapestry in which different narrative skeins are threaded, we observe a dramatic arc in which, placed at the appropriate distance, we will see ourselves reflected. In fact, one of the keys to understanding the title is found in mobile phones, devices that have become an extension of our hand. After all, when it comes to organizing our photographic memories, these devices indicate categories of People and Places. The other key to understanding the exhibition lies in the container of memories represented in the center of this work. In “Travel Painting” (2022) we glimpse an open suitcase that shows an interior crammed with small, disorganized personal objects, moved due to the artist’s change of studio.
