Untitled (Barragan House, #10) . 2005
Luisa Lambri spends time alone in the buildings she photographs to capture the mood of her particular experience of the spaces, often shooting hundreds of frames of film only to print a few in the end. The photographs capture the ethereal quality of light and shadows while simultaneously approaching abstraction. This body of work was taken at Casa Luis Barragan built in 1947 in Mexico City, where modernist architect Luis Barragan (Mexican, 1902–88) lived and worked most of his life.
