Ridgeway Park is a small neighborhood park surrounded by a tall canopy of trees and large suburban back gardens. It is a common urban condition in Waltham Forest, where parks were captured from farm land stranded behind winding suburban streets. Others are allotment gardens or sports grounds associated with local schools. It’s an interesting and intimate condition which separates the park space from the suburban houses, their streets and cars. There is an anticipation and surprise as you wind past the thick threshold of suburban house and garden, emerging from the tree line to the openness of the park grounds. Continue reading daa studio
