The new access to the heritage site becomes a meeting place, recognizable and accessible for residents and visitors, at the same time dignifying the work spaces for the preservation of the park. The integration into the environment follows a double strategy: on the one hand, to value the bundles of pre-existing stone walls and vegetated terraces as landscape infrastructures, giving continuity to Park Güell’s water and fertilizer resources, understood as an ecological claim and cultural, affecting an improvement of the urban landscape.
On the other hand, fix a light, thin and elongated building against the wall – wooden stakes with a photovoltaic pergola – a building that compacts the program, which could be dismantled
and easily recycled in future changes of use, to restore the original landscape. The nature of the construction system and its implementation, which hides part of the semi-underground program in a terrace of anthropic rebar, minimize the environmental and visual footprint of the new logistics and social center.
