The new building for the Helmholtz Institute appears as an independent undirected, uniform structure on the southern slope of the Landgrave. Between the existing research buildings, the new building with the basic volume of a cube (edge length 15m) is placed so that the property can be used efficiently, connections can be functionally oriented on different floor levels and a mediating scale in the urban grain between the existing villas and large solitary buildings.
