In 2019 we dismantled a vault made of sawn timber, built in the 1930s in Linares, Chile, using the structural system invented by Friedrich Zollinger in Merseburg, Germany, in 1918. It was 103 m long and spanned 22.5 m. The vault was reassembled in the project, which ended up winning the Public Competition for Chilean Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020. The existing structure was transported from Linares to the fair site in Dubai, where it remains to this day, abandoned in some corner after Chile’s participation at the expo was canceled due to political upheaval in Chile.
