This project is the first stage of regeneration of an old path that links the towns of Sallent and Cabrianes following the course of the Llobregat River, in an environment of riverside forests and small orchards.

REGENERATE tr.v.
To develop and improve something, especially by making it as good or successful as it was before.

This project, like any regeneration process, can be explained in 3 successive times: a past time where the path and its edges defined a system of open spaces, easily accessible, perfectly integrated into their environment. A present time where the path is transformed into a heavy traffic road, with serious problems of accessibility, which rips the territory. A future time, imagined and projected as a -not literal- back to the past time.

This project is a de-construction process: to open the door to the landscape through the demolition of a concrete balustrade that defined an overly explicit boundary between infrastructure and landscape. A de-materialization process: to reintegrate architecture and environment through the use of local and low impact resources. An un-hiding process: to provide access to the open spaces on the path edges by cleaning them.

This project aims the re-appropriation of the natural areas of the riverbank, through the arrangement of stairs, ramps and terraces that solve the connection between both levels; the re-habilitation of the riverbank promenade and its edges, becoming them into civic spaces; the re-integration of infrastructure and nature through a low-intensity intervention in a continuously changing environment that probably will soon impose its own law to get rid of the not fundamental.

Rehacer, volver al estado original algo que había degenerado.

Este proyecto es la primera etapa de regeneración de un camino que une las poblaciones de Sallent y Cabrianes siguiendo el curso del río Llobregat, en un entorno de bosques de ribera y pequeños cultivos.

Este proyecto, como todo proceso de regeneración, se explica en tres tiempos sucesivos: un tiempo pasado, donde el camino y sus márgenes definían un sistema de espacios libres, de fácil acceso, perfectamente integrados a su entorno. Un tiempo presente donde el camino se transforma en una carretera de tráfico pesado, con graves carencias de accesibilidad, que fractura el territorio. Un tiempo futuro, imaginado y proyectado como un retorno -no literal- al tiempo pasado.

Este proyecto es un proceso de des-construcción: abrir la puerta al paisaje a través del derribo de una balaustrada de hormigón que definía un límite demasiado explícito entre infraestructura y paisaje. De des-materialización: reintegrarse al entorno a través de una construcción de muy bajo impacto resuelta con recursos locales. De des-cubrimiento: hacer accesibles los espacios libres de los márgenes del camino mediante su limpieza y desbroce.

Este proyecto anhela la re-apropiación ciudadana de los espacios naturales de los márgenes, disponiendo escaleras, rampas y gradas que resuelven la conexión entre ambos niveles; la re-habilitación del antiguo paseo de ribera y sus márgenes, deviniendo en espacios cívicos; la re-integración de infraestructura y naturaleza a través de una intervención de baja intensidad en un entorno en permanente transformación que no tardará en imponer su ley para deshacerse de lo que no es fundamental.
