The main idea of my thesis work aimed at the problem of an adaptive reuse of an existing building. And how am I approaching this – is through the idea of infection.

A house for a young couple in the Central Valley of Chile. A rectangular block made of concrete, expressing the construction process, in the same way ruins reveal the traces of life and history.
A ruin needs to be propped  in order to be opened to the north and the best view of the property, creating a tension between heavy and  light.
The volume is toped with three pitched roofs, 3 moments that define the way of living the single space, sleeping-bathing, living and cooking-eating. Continue reading Nicolás Norero
